Kalmar to deliver container handling fleet to Fiji

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from Fiji Ports Terminal Limited for three Kalmar reachstackers and one empty container handler. This order was booked in Cargotec's 2017 third quarter order intake with delivery scheduled for fourth quarter 2017.

Fiji Ports Terminal Limited who manage and operate the two international ports in Fiji; Port of Suva, Port of Lautoka on Fiji's largest island of Viti Levu. The new fleet will join six Kalmar terminal tractors already servicing Fiji's largest container port, Port of Suva, which handles container and general cargo, and has over 6,000 square meters of storage area.

Hasthika Dela, CEO at Fiji Ports Terminal Limited: "This new machinery will increase safety and productivity, while improving operational efficiency at Fiji's largest port. The option to fit all machines with SmartFleet to monitor fuel consumption and less environmental impact was one of the attractions of buying Kalmar in an effort to initiate the Green Port program, and to meet organization's Environmental Management obligations."

The Kalmar DRF400-450 reachstacker is tailor made for industrial handling with the freedom allowed by the lifting equipment and boom, making it easier for the driver to improve the work efficiency of the unit. Cummins engines will power all machines and they will also feature the Kalmar SmartFleet system which enables performance-boosting remote monitoring and reporting.
